Dr. Spence, School Safety Readiness Supervisor for Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC)-Texas State University, is a high-level manager and community leader with more than 20 years of operational leadership and audit experience in the state/government sector. He is a Subject Matter Expert in background check processes and procedures which includes criminal and civil screenings. He currently oversees the functions of the Texas School Safety and Security Consultant Registry and Safety and Security Audit Reporting at the Texas School Safety Center. In addition, he is an adjunct professor in the criminal justice department at Huston-Tillotson University. He has an M.S. Degree in Family and Child Studies from Texas State University; and earned his PhD from Texas Southern University.
